David Schlesinger Moderates Panel Regarding Professionalism in the Employment Law Bar

Last week, David Schlesinger moderated a panel discussion sponsored by Minnesota NELA – the plaintiffs’ employment lawyers’ association – featuring three excellent lawyers who represent employers either as outside or in-house counsel.

The discussion focused on what makes for effective advocacy on the plaintiffs’ side, and how both sides can best work together to improve matters for our clients by resolving cases efficiently and fairly.

The panel also discussed professionalism. For example, how it makes practicing law better for us as lawyers, and more efficient for our clients, when we get to know each other, and even congratulate opposing counsel when they do something particularly well. The takeaway: you can be both an effective advocate, and a nice person. In fact, good lawyers are most often both.
